Principals

E.B. 'Ted' Cogswell, Jr., President of Cogswell Agency, joined the agency in 1958, when his father, E.B. Cogswell, Sr. was President. He is also President of Montana Agency Alliance, LLC. After graduating from the University of Montana, Ted received his commission in the United States Air Force. He is a former Air Force Instructor Pilot and was a jet fighter pilot with the Montana Air National Guard for 22 years. Ted is a Past President of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers, a Past National Director of the Associate Members of Associated General Contractors, and a member of the elite Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers.

Dianne Meinhardt, Vice President and Agency Manager, joined Cogswell Agency in 1984. She is also Vice President of Montana Agency Alliance, LLC.  Her experience includes Regional Life Manager of the Denver Region of Allstate Insurance Co. and assignment to a process redesign team in the Allstate Home Office in Northbrook, Illinois. Within Cogswell Agency, Dianne has served as Brokerage Manager; life producer; and, currently, manager of all operations, from support staff supervision to business and sales management. Dianne serves on the Safeco Agent Advisory Board for the Northwest Region and is the designate for the Hartford VIP appointment of Montana Agency Alliance. She is a two-term Past President of the North Montana Association of Life Underwriters and has served on the Board of Directors of the Montana Association of Life Underwriters.   

Lorrin Darby, Corporate Officer and Surety Bond Manager, joined the Agency in 1975 and has managed several departments. He has been in the Surety Bond Department since 1987 and is licensed to conduct surety business in fourteen states. With his experience in field underwriting, surety companies have granted Cogswell Agency substantial lines of authority in the Powers of Attorney acting in their behalf. Lorrin is a two-term Past President of the North Montana Association of Life Underwriters and a Past State President of the Montana Association of Life Underwriters. He is a member of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers as well as the Association of General Contractors. With over 40 years experience in the insurance industry, he is a graduate of numerous insurance and surety industry and surety company schools.
